The official launching of the KL-Ga.org project was held at White Box PUBLIKA, in Kuala Lumpur on 13 August 2016. In attendance and making an opening speech was Naoko Ohta, founder and commissioner of Tokyo-Ga.org. This was followed by short introduction about the objectives and causes of KL-Ga.org by Steven Lee, it's founder. The second part of the afternoon was a presentation by 3 photographers from the JapanFocus exhibition - Mitsu Maeda, Mayumi Suzuki and Shinya Masuda.
