Hanif Maidin is based in Kuala Lumpu.r He has experience working with kids living with HIV and that inspires him to explore better visual narratives in storytelling. His interest in photography as a form of activism which focusses on documenting people and social issues. Beside photography Hanif teaches optics to optometry undergrads.
'Goodbye Pudu Jail' is my first attempt to capture the legacy of the 115 year old building. Despite calls for it to be preserved, a decision was reached to tear down the building and to replace it with mixed development by UDA. Shortly after demolition began, my friend and I managed to sneak in and capture it for the last time.
