Azman Karib Ibrahim
I am a full-time photographer who was born in Perak, Malaysia. Photography started out as a hobby and is now my true passion. My camera never leaves my side!
I’ve settled upon the genres of human interest, portraiture, street and recently travel photography. I wanted my images captured to reach out and touch the hearts of viewers with a sense of emotion. Finally, creating a connection between my images, myself and the viewer.
It’s my hope that I will be able to capture the people, culture, places and moments wherever I happen to be and to share those moments for people from around the world to be connected, emotionally.

Iftar & Tarawih 2017
Muslims all over the world observe and fulfill their religious obligations for a whole month during Ramadan. They fast from the break of dawn until sunset. The breaking of fast is also known in Arabic as Iftar. I was privileged to be invited to capture moments of the Iftar and Tarawih special prayers at the home of a former classmate in Kota Warisan, Sepang, Selangor. It has been their practice over several years to host an Iftar and Tarawih prayers on one occasion in the month of Ramadan.
The attendees include their immediate neighbors and nearby communities. In addition for this event they've also invited Muslim students learning to become a hafiz (who learn to recite the Quran from memory) from a nearby religious school called a Tahfiz.
Before the breaking of fast, there was a short prayer session or Doa and Tahlil in remembrance of their family members and relatives who have passed away.
After the breaking of fast, the family and guests would be performing the Maghrib prayers and resume dinner until about 8.30pm to perform the Isyak prayers. After that would be the special prayers called Tarawih which is performed every night only during the month of Ramadan!
The Tarawih prayers ends around 10.30pm and the guests would be invited to have a small supper called moreh before going home. They were also given a small token or door gift by the gracious hosts and family to take with them.
