Kampung Baru's Bubur Lambuk : A simple porridge with an iconic status.
What started as a simple porridge shared among locals who frequent the century old Jamek mosque during breaking of fast 70 years ago has become a staple dish coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan for the citizens of Kuala Lumpur and further reaching the other states of the nation.
In keeping with the tradition of sharing the porridge set by Jamek mosque and Kg. Baru’s community years before, the mosque together with sponsorships by individuals and corporations, continue to prepare and distribute free 'bubur lambuk' to the Muslim masses today with the exact recipe used during its humble beginnings long ago.
